Meeting the needs of a growing community

We’ve opened a new service centre in Butler, Western Australia, one of the fastest growing areas in Australia.

In March 2024, staff threw open the doors of the new service centre to appreciative customers. About 60 customers visited on the first day, with numbers growing daily in the weeks following.

Service Centre Manager Carolyn said the new site provides face to face Medicare and Centrelink support, as well as access to a range of other online government services.

‘It offers our welcoming, fresh and contemporary design, and reflects our commitment to customer-focussed ways of operating,’ Carolyn said.

Customers also gave feedback about the new service centre.

Denise visited twice in the first few days after the site opened. She said the location, design and operation of the service centre were all ‘brilliant’.

‘My circumstances changed recently and I needed to claim JobSeeker Payment,’ Densie said.

‘I needed help to get set up to do the claim. The new service centre is near my home so I can walk there. The next nearest site would be Joondalup, about 20 minutes drive each way, so it’s saving me lots of time and petrol.’
