Who can get it

If you live in the Cape York and Doomadgee region in Queensland, you may be eligible for enhanced Income Management.

You may be eligible for enhanced Income Management if you need help with managing your payments.

If you were referred by the Family Responsibilities Commission

If you live in the Cape York and Doomadgee region, you will start on enhanced Income Management if both of these apply:

  • the Family Responsibilities Commission (FRC) refers you for it
  • you or your partner get a payment from us.

You will get an enhanced Income Management account with a SmartCard, which looks and works like a normal debit card.

If the Family Responsibilities Commission (FRC) refers you for enhanced Income Management, you need to contact them to discuss your situation.

You should call the FRC on 1800 004 973.

If you want to volunteer

You can volunteer for enhanced Income Management if you get a payment from us and live in the following areas of Queensland:

  • Bundaberg and Hervey Bay region
  • Livingstone, Logan or Rockhampton
  • Cape York and Doomadgee region.

If you are in the Cape York and Doomadgee region, you need to contact the Family Responsibilities Commission (FRC) to talk about volunteering and the percentage amount. You can choose from:

  • 60% to your enhanced Income Management account and 40% to your regular account
  • 75% to your enhanced Income Management account and 25% to your regular account
  • 90% to your enhanced Income Management account and 10% to your regular account.

If you live in Queensland but outside of these locations, you are not able to volunteer for enhanced Income Management. There are locations in other states where people can volunteer.
