If you have any of the following degrees, you can apply to both the data and generalist streams. If you’re assessed as suitable for both streams, we’ll try to match you to the data stream first.
Once you start, you’ll stay in the data stream for the duration of the program.

Type of degree
We’re looking for graduates with a degree in data or a related degree, such as any of the following:
- actuarial studies
- business analysis
- business and finance
- computer science
- econometrics
- engineering
- data administration
- data mining
- data science and analytics
- mathematics
- project and program management
- statistics
- visual analytics.
Range of work
In the data stream, you may work on a range of projects and tasks such as some of the following:
- data analysis, research and trend reporting
- information and data management
- data engineering and analytics development
- fraud and compliance investigation
- data analysis relevant to service delivery and policy
- machine learning methodologies
- data manipulation and cleansing.
You may also get to do any of the following:
- develop and evaluate data models
- design reports and interactive visualisations
- work with domain and data experts in an agile project environment
- produce reports and make recommendations based on analysis
- simulation and predictive analytics.
