What to do if you have a business income reconciliation debt

If you got Farm Household Allowance (FHA) you may have got a business income reconciliation debt.

If you have a reconciliation overpayment, we may be able to reduce the overpayment amount.

On 24 July 2021 the Farm Household Support Amendment (Debt Waiver) Act 2021 took effect. The Act allows us to waive certain debts from the business income reconciliation process between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2020.

If you’re eligible to have the debt waiver applied, we’ll contact you to discuss your circumstances. The call will come from a private number.

If you’re making repayments towards a reconciliation overpayment, you can ask us to pause these repayments until we reassess your payment. You can do this by calling the Farmer Assistance hotline.

The reconciliation and reassessment process will begin in 2022.
