When to provide your financial documents

If you get Farm Household Allowance (FHA) you need to give us your financial documents so we can reconcile your income.

If you received FHA payments between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2020 you should ensure you’ve given us your taxation paperwork for each financial year you received payment.

If you got FHA in the 2019-20 financial year

You should have received a request for these documents in August 2021. If we don’t receive these documents we can’t work out if we paid you the right amount of FHA for that year.

If you got FHA after 1 July 2020

You still need to estimate your business income each financial year but we’ve replaced the previous business income reconciliation process. You should also update your estimate when your circumstances change.

The new approach will help you keep your income information up to date so we pay you the right amount. We’ll make it easy for you to know what to tell us, and how. Every time you speak with us, we’ll ask you about your estimate and if your income or other circumstances have changed. We may still reconcile your income if there’s a high risk that we’ve overpaid you.

If you got an exemption or extension

If the Australian Taxation Office has given you an exemption or extension, you might not need to give us these documents. You need to send us proof of your exemption or extension. You can upload your documents online, or take them to a service centre. Contact your Farm Household Case Officer or call the Farmer Assistance Hotline for more information.
