You can apply for the Practice Incentives Program (PIP) online through Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) using your Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account. If you don’t have one, register for PRODA online. Then follow the steps to set up your HPOS access.
To apply for PIP online:
- Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
- From the My programs menu, select PIP online.
- In Apply for the Practice Incentives Program (PIP), select Apply now.
Once you complete your online application you’ll need to complete and submit all of the following:
- a Practice Incentives Practice ownership details and declaration form (IP008)
- your current accreditation or registered for accreditation certificate
- evidence to support your ownership structure. Your supporting documentation must include the practice.
If your practice has procedural GPs you’ll also need to submit the Practice Incentives Individual general practitioner, nurse practitioner or health practitioner details form (IP003).
You can upload these to the associated documents screen when applying for PIP through HPOS.
You can also apply using the Practice Incentives application form (IP001).
Provide the supporting documents requested on the application form. Incomplete applications may delay approval.
You must participate in the PIP to apply for individual incentives. You can apply for individual incentives at the same time or after you apply for PIP.
To apply online:
- Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
- From the My programs menu, select PIP online.
- Select Incentive summary from the main menu options.
- From the list of PIP incentives, find After Hours Incentive, then select Apply in the Actions column.
You can also apply using the Practice Incentives Program After Hours Incentive application form (IP030).
Practices with a non-prescribed circumstance for a localised nurse triaging arrangement can apply in writing for the Level 5 complete after hours practice coverage payment to be considered as part of an eligible model of care.
Applications and requests for consideration of an after hours localised nurse triage arrangement can be faxed to 1300 587 696.

You can only apply for the eHealth Incentive online.
To apply online:
- Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
- From the My programs menu, select PIP online.
- Select Incentive summary from the main menu options.
- From the list of PIP incentives, find eHealth Incentive, then select Apply in the Actions column.

- From the list of PIP incentives, find Indigenous Health Incentive, then select Apply in the Actions column.

To apply online:
- Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
- From the My programs menu, select PIP online.
- Select Incentive summary from the main menu options.
- From the list of PIP incentives, find Procedural General Practitioner Payment, then select Apply in the Actions column.
You can also apply using either the:
- Practice Incentives Program Procedural GP Payment application form (IP004) to register as a practice
- Individual general practitioner or nurse practitioner details form (IP003) to register as an individual GP.
This incentive is only for practices in the Rural, Remote and Metropolitan Areas (RRMA) 3-7.

You can only apply for the Quality Improvement Incentive online.
To apply online:
- Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
- From the My programs menu, select PIP online.
- Select Update.
- If you have multiple practices displaying, select the relevant practice.
- If a PIP information screen appears, select the Exit button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Incentive summary in the Main menu.
- In the Quality stream section, select Quality Improvement Incentive, then select Apply.
- Read the terms and conditions.
- Select Participation payment.
- Select Submit.

You don’t need to apply for this incentive. Rural loading is automatically applied to the PIP payments of practices in rural and remote areas.

You don’t need to apply for this incentive, but you’ll need to tell us the number of teaching sessions hosted by your practice to claim the payment. You can do this using the Practice Incentives Program Teaching Payment claim form (IP006).
