Practice Incentives Program eligibility

Understand what's required to participate in the Practice Incentives Program (PIP).

To participate in the Practice Incentives Program (PIP), your practice must be accredited, or registered for accreditation, against the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices. Your practice needs to be assessed by an approved accrediting agency. Notify us when your practice is fully accredited.

Find out more about The National General Practice Accreditation Scheme on the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care website.

Your practice must also:

  • be a general practice as defined by the RACGP
  • be an open practice as defined in the PIP guidelines
  • maintain at least $10 million in public liability insurance cover for each practice location
  • have professional indemnity insurance cover for all general practitioners and nurse practitioners.

Read the PIP guidelines to make sure your practice meets all eligibility requirements.

If your practice is eligible you can apply for PIP and individual incentives.
