Pay for access to information using Government EasyPay

You can pay for charges relating to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request or Subpoena Conduct Money online using the Government EasyPay service.

Before you start

Before using this service you should consider what is the most appropriate and cost effective payment option for you. If it’s not using the Government EasyPay service, send us an email to ask us for information about another way to make the payment. For:

The Subpoena Team and the FOI Team will manage their requests separately. You’ll need to email the correct team in relation to your matter.

Payment value and card payment fee

We accept Visa, MasterCard or debit card payments made online for FOI charges or Subpoena Conduct Money.

You’ll need to pay a minimum payment of $10.00 to use this service.

A card payment fee doesn’t apply to transactions made using this service.

Transaction receipt

When you make a payment using the Government EasyPay service you’ll get a receipt. It will identify the payment amount. Your credit or debit card statement will display Services Australia as the details of your payment using EasyPay.

Government EasyPay service processing times

Government EasyPay is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. It will take approximately 24 to 48 hours for us to credit your payment to your account. This could be longer on weekends and applicable public holidays. We’ll process your payment on the next business day if you make a payment either:

  • after 6 pm Australian EST
  • on weekends
  • on applicable public holidays.

FOI requests

We’ll process your FOI request in accordance with legislative timeframes once we’ve received your payment. Once you have made a payment using EasyPay, email freedomofinformation@servicesaustralia.gov.au.

Subpoenas

You should pay the Subpoena Conduct Money before you serve the subpoena on us. If we haven’t issued you or your organisation with a subpoena reference number, email supboena@servicesaustralia.gov.au.

Unavailability of the service

There may be times when the Government EasyPay service isn’t available. This is usually due to unforeseen technical issues. Please contact us if you need to make a payment during this period. For:
