Once your claim is finalised

When your claim reaches judgment or settlement, you’ll need to repay the amount on your Notice of charge.

A Notice of past benefits is valid for 6 months. If judgment or settlement happens while it’s valid, your final Notice of past benefits becomes your Notice of charge.

Your Notice of charge states the total amount that you need to repay.

If you don’t have a valid Notice of past benefits on judgment or settlement date, you’ll need a new one.

We’ll send you a new Medicare history and care services statement and Declaration. You need to complete this and send it back to us.
