When gifting exceptions apply
We have some exceptions to how we assess gifting.
How gifting can affect your payment
If you or your partner gift money, income or assets, we may assess it in your income and assets tests.
Payments while outside Australia
To get your payment or concession card while outside Australia, you must continue to meet the qualification rules at all times.

Rural customers and primary producers
Some rural properties and farms have more than one title or larger blocks than residential properties. The asset test rules are different for these properties.
Mutual obligation requirements for principal carers
These are tasks and activities you agree to do to keep getting your payment. They give you a better chance of finding work.
Funeral bonds and prepaid funerals
Funeral costs you pay for in advance normally don’t count in your assets test for payments from us. There are some exceptions.
Superannuation
Superannuation is a long term savings structure to help fund your retirement.
