How to manage your payment

We need to know about changes that could reduce or stop your Mobility Allowance (MOB) payment.

We may review your situation to check you are still eligible for Mobility Allowance.

If you stop your qualifying activity, you may still get Mobility Allowance for a short time. This is known as a grace period.

You may get part of your income support payment or Family Tax Benefit (Part A) early. This is an advance payment. You pay it back later out of your payments from us.

You can ask someone to act for you with Medicare, Centrelink, aged care or Child Support. You can authorise them to speak to us, update your details and get payments for you.

There are rules about when you can get Mobility Allowance when you travel outside Australia.
