How to apply

We’ve closed Centrepay to new business applications as we consult and prepare for future improvements.

Existing Centrepay registered businesses will continue to get their Centrepay deductions from customers.

Pausing applications to be a Centrepay registered business

We aren’t accepting new business applications while we reform Centrepay.

Applying under exceptional circumstances

Where there are exceptional circumstances, we’ll consider accepting applications for businesses during the pause. Exceptional circumstances may include:

  • a sale, transfer or restructure of a business that is registered with Centrepay and has existing Centrepay customers.
  • businesses offering critical services, such as community housing, where customers may be adversely affected.

You can ask to make an application during this time if:

  • you think there are exceptional circumstances
  • you need to have your business’s eligibility for Centrepay considered.

In your request, outline why we should consider your business for Centrepay.

You’ll also need to give evidence showing us why delaying your application to use Centrepay will affect customers.

To do this, contact us through the Centrepay for businesses team.
