Changes to your circumstances

What changes to your circumstances you need to tell us about for your Tertiary Access Payment claim.

After you’ve submitted your claim, there may be changes to your circumstances that you need to tell us about.

Tell us if any of the following details change before we pay your first or only payment:

Changes to your family home address

Your family home needs to be located in an eligible area to get the payment. If this changes before you get the payment, you need to let us know.

Changes to your study details

This includes if you:

  • don’t stay enrolled in your course
  • stop studying and don’t plan to return to study
  • don’t start your course within 2 weeks of the course start date
  • reduce your study or training workload.

Changes to your parent or guardian information

You need to tell us if your parents or guardians do any of the following:

  • change their address
  • marry or start living with their partner
  • separate from their partner
  • have changes to their income.

Changes to your address while you study

Once you have submitted your claim, you need to update your address to where you are moving for study. You need to do this as soon as you know your new address, so your claim doesn’t get delayed. Read more on how to change your address.

If you’re eligible for 2 instalments of the payment, you need to tell us if your situation changes before you get the second instalment. You only need to tell us if you have changes to your study. You can do this online.

Read our online guide to updating your study details.
