Additional support for North Queensland Floods, January - February 2025

Published: 21 February 2025

More areas can now claim Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) and Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) for the floods in North Queensland.

AGDRP is a lump sum payment to help if you’ve been directly affected by this disaster. You may be eligible if any of the following apply:

  • your home or major assets that you own at your home have been severely damaged or destroyed
  • you’ve been seriously injured
  • your immediate family member has died or is missing.

You can claim DRA if you’ve lost income as a direct result of this disaster. You could get this payment for up to 13 weeks.

We also have payments for New Zealand citizens living in Australia.

You can read more about the payments and eligibility rules for the North Queensland Floods, January - February 2025.

We provide additional help like our social work services. There is also information about other support.
