Access your patient's details in My Health Record

Only a health professional can access patient My Health Records. This doesn’t include delegates of a Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) account.

Only individual health care providers can access their patient’s My Health Record.

To access your patient’s My Health Record, you need to link to an organisation that either:

  • has a Healthcare Provider Identifier-Organisation (HPI-O)
  • is registered with the My Health Record.

If your organisation uses software to access My Health Record, you don’t need to do anything. Ask your software vendor to show you how to access My Health Record.

If your organisation uses the read-only National Provider Portal to access My Health Records, you need an individual PRODA account. If you don’t have one, register for a PRODA account.

You can read more about setting up your healthcare organisation’s access to the Healthcare Identifiers Service and My Health Record.

Your organisation’s practice manager needs to link your Healthcare Provider Identifier-Individual (HPI-I) to the organisation’s HPI-O, so you can access My Health Records on the organisation’s behalf.

Learn more about accessing health care identifiers and My Health Records in the Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service.
