Travel is impossible or unreasonable if either of the following apply:
- it takes more than 90 minutes travel from your home - including walking and waiting time
- blocked roads, flooding or unreliable transport make it hard to travel at least 20 days in the school year.
If you’re a secondary school student, travel may also be unreasonable if your home is at least either:
- 56 km from a suitable school
- 4.5 km from the nearest transport service and at least 16 km from a suitable school.
