To get FTB for your child after they turn 16, they must be studying or have an exemption to study.
If your child stops studying after they turn 16, you need to update their study details. You can do this in your Centrelink online account through myGov or the Centrelink app. If you don’t, you could get a debt.
When your FTB stops, your child may be eligible for other payments.
