What are third party payments
Third party payments are reimbursements or payments that entities have provided you to minimise your claim losses. Examples of third party payers include:
- Centrelink, if you get an income support payments
- Medicare, if you get a benefit
- Health insurance, if you get rebates or care services provided
- Sickness and accident or Superannuation Insurance
- Work Cover
- National Disability Insurance Agency.

What evidence do I need to provide
If you’ve received third party payments, you need to provide evidence of this. Examples of evidence include:
- Centrelink statements
- Medicare claims history statements identifying services related to your harm
- Health fund statements identifying services related to your harm
- Sickness or accident insurance statements showing payments received
- Statement from Work Cover showing income support received
- National Disability Insurance Scheme plans.
