Before you start
Before using this service you should consider the available options to decide what is both the most:
- suitable option to help you meet your child support obligations
- cost effective payment option to help you meet your child support obligations.
Payment value and card payment fee
The minimum payment amount is $10.00.
Card payment fees depend on when the payment was made. Payments made before 1 January 2025 will be charged fees if paid with a credit or debit card. From 1 January 2025 onwards fees will only apply to credit cards.
This fee is the non–GST part of the fee that we are charged from the bank. When making a payment, the system will show you the fee amount and payment totals before asking you to confirm.
Receipt
This service will give you a receipt that shows both:
- the payment amount put into your child support account
- the applicable card payment fee, if there is one.
The detail will appear as CSA Payment on your credit or debit card statement. CSA Card Payment Fee will also appear on your credit card statement.
Processing times
Your payment needs to reach us on or before its due date. You can use Government EasyPay 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Payments appear in your account in approximately 24–48 hours, longer on weekends and public holidays. We’ll process your payment the next business day if you made it either:
- after 6pm Sydney Australia Eastern Standard Time
- on a weekend
- on a public holiday.
Unavailability of the service
The service may sometimes be unavailable due to technical issues. During these periods, if you need to make a payment, you should use an alternative payment option. This makes sure we get your payment by the due date and you don’t get a late payment penalty. If you can’t use an alternative payment method or make your payment, contact the Child Support Enquiry Line to discuss your options.
If you have paid too much
Call the Child Support Enquiry Line if you believe you have either:
- made an incorrect payment
- paid too much.
