Moving for work

You may decide to move house to increase your chance of finding a job. There is support available if you move to find a job.

When you find a job

You may be able to get help with certain relocation costs if:

  • you’re participating in employment services
  • you need to move for work.

This helps if you have financial barriers that could stop you from accepting a job offer.

You need to talk to your provider about what relocation support you may be able to get. You need to do this before you move. This applies if you’re with any of the following:

  • Workforce Australia
  • Transition to Work
  • Parent Pathways
  • Disability Employment Services.

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations also has a Digital Services Contact Centre. Talk to them if you’re self-managing in Workforce Australia Online. They may be able to help cover certain relocation costs.
