If you’re planning to or have recently left the Australian Defence Force, you may need to register for a Medicare card.
Medicare helps with the costs of seeing a doctor, getting medicines and accessing mental health care. It can assist with costs for appointments that may not be covered by your Veteran Card. You can be eligible for both cards at the same time.
Even if you already hold a Veteran Card, you may need to enrol in Medicare as well.
