The IAP is a pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people looking to get into the Australian Public Service, offering permanent, full-time entry level jobs across government.
Applications for this year’s program close on Monday 10 March, with several new agencies joining the program including the Australian Digital Health Agency and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Commission.
As part of the program apprentices complete a nationally recognised Certificate IV or Diploma in Government with study support and receive ongoing mentorship with opportunities to progress in their careers.
Services Australia recruits on behalf of more than 30 Australian Public Service agencies and departments, with a wide range of positions in locations across Australia.
IAP roles on offer this round include administration, policy and program development, service delivery, finance, human resources and IT.
The IAP has been the starting point for many successful public service careers, with over 2,100 apprentices joining the Australian Public Service since the program started in 2015.
Services Australia anticipates around 300 positions will be filled through the program this year.
