Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health checks

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians can get a 715 health check to help find and treat illnesses earlier.

You can get the 715 health check with your usual doctor or clinic. They’ll:

  • ask you about your health
  • do a physical check up
  • organise tests
  • write a health plan.

If you’re at risk or have an ongoing illness you can access Medicare follow up services.

Ask your doctor, nurse or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker about your 715 health check.

You can have a 715 health check every 9 to 12 months. Try to use the same doctor or clinic so they can get to know your health needs. If you change doctors, tell them about your old doctor’s care.
