How to manage your payment

You must tell us if things change as it might affect your Austudy payment.

We need to know the gross employment income you and your partner get so we can pay you the right amount.

If you get Austudy and you’re Age Pension age, you can apply to transfer to Age Pension.

There are rules about when you can get Austudy when you travel outside Australia.

You can ask someone to act for you with Medicare, Centrelink, aged care or Child Support. You can authorise them to speak to us, update your details and get payments for you.

You can get help to access your money if you have an overdrawn bank account.

We may send a letter to your myGov inbox asking you to do an online review of your study details.

You may be able to cancel your own payment online. This means you don’t need to visit a service centre or call us.
