How much DSP you can get depends on your situation.

If you’re under 21, it depends on if we assess you as dependent or independent.

You may get a different rate if you’re on the transitional rate of pension.

Payment rates

How much Disability Support Pension (DSP) you can get depends on your situation.

Dependent or independent

If you’re under 21, the amount of DSP you get depends on whether we assess you as dependent or independent.

Advance payment

You may get part of your income support payment or Family Tax Benefit (Part A) early. This is an advance payment. You pay it back later out of your payments from us.

Keep your Pensioner Concession Card

If your Disability Support Pension (DSP) stops, you may still get a Pensioner Concession Card.

Weekly payment option

Some people can get income support payments paid each week instead of each fortnight.

Transitional rate of pension

The transitional rate started in 2009. It's for pensioners who would get a lower pension rate if we used the new income test.

Overdrawn bank account

You can get help to access your money if you have an overdrawn bank account.

Paying tax on your payment

You may have to pay income tax on your taxable Centrelink payments.
