If you’re eligible for this payment you can get it in up to six payments of at least $250 each. Or you could get a lump sum of $1,500.
You won’t get the TILA payment directly into your account. We pay it to your caseworker’s organisation. As part of the application, you and your caseworker agree how to best use the allowance. Your caseworker then makes the purchases or payments on your behalf.
You can use TILA for items like:
- rental bond
- essential household items
- clothes for job interviews
- training courses
- car costs.
You can find a complete list of what the TILA can and can’t be used for on the Department of Social Services website.
