The service a business uses will depend on what information they need about you.
We only give a business the information they need to confirm if you’re eligible for their concession, rebate or service. We won’t share details with a business that they don’t need.
Customer confirmation
This service allows a business to confirm your details with us, such as the following:
- your concession card status
- your name
- your residential address
- your number of dependent children
- your Centrelink payment type, status and amount.
They can also use it to confirm these details with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).
Income confirmation
This service provides a business with details relating to your financial circumstances, such as the following:
- the type, amount and date of your payment
- your number of dependent children and the percentage of shared care for each child
- details of any deductions from your payment
- details of any income
- details of your assets
- your residential address
- your relationship status, to confirm if you have a partner.
They can’t use it to confirm these details with DVA.
Superannuation confirmation
Administrators and trustees of super funds use this service to check how long you’ve been getting a payment from us.
This helps them decide if you’re eligible for an early release of your super on financial hardship grounds. Your super fund considers many factors when making their decision. So even if you meet the income support payment requirements they may decide not to release your super early. We can’t change or review this decision.
