Find health care providers and organisations in the HPD

Search for health care providers and organisations in the Health Provider Directory (HPD) in the Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service.

You can search for a health care provider and organisation through Health Professional Online Services (HPOS).

To search in the HPD, you need a Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account. If you don’t have one, register for a PRODA account. Then follow the steps to set up your HPOS access.

To find a health care provider:

  1. Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
  2. Select My programs.
  3. Select Healthcare Identifiers and My Health Record.
  4. Select Healthcare Identifiers - Manage existing records.
  5. Select Search HI provider directory service for individual.
  6. Select Identification number search and enter the provider’s HPI-I or AHPRA registration number.
  7. If you don’t know them, select Demographic search and enter the provider’s State and Country.
  8. You need to include at least one other field, like Family name or Given name.
  9. Select Search.
  10. If the provider doesn’t show, select Refine search and enter other information you may know.

To find a healthcare organisation:

  1. Log in to PRODA to access your HPOS account.
  2. Select My programs.
  3. Select Healthcare Identifiers and My Health Record.
  4. Select Healthcare Identifiers - Manage existing records.
  5. Select Search HI provider directory service for organisation.
  6. Enter the HPI-O or Organisation name.
  7. Enter the organisation’s State and Country.
  8. Select Search.
  9. If the organisation doesn’t show, select Refine search and enter other information you may know.
