Finishing your apprenticeship or traineeship is exciting, but you may be wondering what to do next.
Finding out what happens next
Depending on what state or territory you live in, you may get a trade certificate. You may also need to apply for a work licence at this stage.

You might continue working with your current employer or you may need to look for another job. If you need help finding another job, read about looking for work.
If you’ve decided to leave your apprenticeship
If you’ve decided not to finish your apprenticeship, we have information and support to guide you.

If you want to end your apprenticeship, you’ll need to give your employer notice.

When your circumstances change, this may affect any payments you get from us. Make sure your details are up to date so we can pay you the right amount.
If your Centrelink online account is linked to myGov you can do this online.
You can also use the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.
If you don’t have a myGov account or a Centrelink online account you’ll need to create them.
