Access
Access to the activity may be unreasonable if circumstances affect travel at least 20 days in the academic year. This may be because of any of the following:
- blocked roads
- flooding
- unreliable transport.
Travelling time
Travelling time may be unreasonable if takes more than 90 minutes between the activity location and one of the following:
- the student’s permanent home
- the student’s normal place of study
- the student’s term address.
What we consider will depend on the type of Away from Base activity.
Travel may also be unreasonable for secondary students taking part in residential schools, if their home is at least either:
- 56 kms from a suitable residential school
- 4.5 km from the nearest transport service and at least 16 km from a suitable residential school.
