Your course must be all of the following:
- a higher education course
- at a higher education provider
- on the National Register of Higher Education Providers.
Courses
The course can be either:
- one that leads to a degree or diploma
- a preparatory course before you start a degree or diploma.
It can’t be a vocational education or training course.
It must be on the National Register of Higher Education Providers listed on the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency website.
If you’re doing a Startup Year course, you also need to be getting a STARTUP-HELP loan to get the Relocation Scholarship.

Providers
Approved providers are:
- universities
- some private colleges
- some TAFE colleges.
They must be on the National Register of Higher Education Providers listed on the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency website.
Find out if your course is okay
Look up your course on the National Register of Higher Education Providers on the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency website, to check if it’s approved.
If it’s on the list, you may get the scholarship for it.
