Apply for a bulk bill late lodgement

Apply a late lodgement of a bulk bill claim if you can’t claim a payment within 2 years of the date of service.

You’ll need to provide evidence of:

  • why the claim couldn’t be submitted within the 2-year period
  • how it'll affect the ongoing viability of your practice.

We won’t accept late claims due to an administrative issue, including:

  • poor bookkeeping
  • inadequate staffing, resources and training
  • an issue with software.

To apply for late lodgement of a bulk bill claim:

  1. Contact our eBusiness Service Centre for the late lodgement of a claim for assigned Medicare benefits form.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Complete the original assignment of benefit form and get this signed by your patient.
  4. Send your application and assignment of benefit form for the late lodgement to Bulk Bill late lodgement applications.

We won’t accept applications for late lodgement electronically.
