Aged Care Specialist Officer

An Aged Care Specialist Officer (ACSO) is part of My Aged Care face-to-face services. They can help with your aged care matters.

An Aged Care Specialist Officer (ACSO) can help you in more detail with your aged care matters.

What an ACSO does

Our ACSOs can help with all of these:

  • providing in-depth information on the different types of aged care services
  • checking if you’re eligible for government-funded services and making a referral for an aged care assessment
  • helping you appoint a representative for My Aged Care
  • providing financial information about aged care services
  • connecting you to local support services.

Free face-to-face appointments are available with an ACSO:

  • through video chat if you have a myGov account
  • in person at some service centres.

How to book an ACSO appointment

You, your family or nominee can call the Aged Care line or visit a service centre to book an appointment with an ACSO. Appointments are available in-person or via video chat.
