About the WIP Doctor Stream

Access benefits under the Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) Doctor Stream for medical practitioners working in rural and remote areas of Australia.

The Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) Doctor Stream started on 1 January 2020 as part of the 2018-19 Stronger Rural Health Strategy Initiative. The stream replaced the General Practice Rural Incentives Program (GPRIP). It encourages medical practitioners to practise in rural and remote communities and promotes careers in rural medicine.

The Modified Monash Model (MMM) determines eligible locations which are classified as MMM 3-7. On 1 January 2020, the MMM was updated to the new 2019 version to determine eligible locations. Find out more on the DoctorConnect website.

Find out more about the WIP Doctor Stream and eligibility on the Department of Health and Aged Care website or contact us.
