We can tell you how much you’ll pay towards a government funded Home Care Package or a place in an aged care home. To do this, we use your income and asset information. We call these your financial details.
The financial details we need depend on your circumstances and the type of care you are applying for. In some circumstances, we may already have the financial details we need.
You can find out how much you might pay by using the Fee Estimator on the My Aged Care website. This is only a guide. We tell you the amount you will pay when you enter care and submit a calculation of your cost of aged care.
Our Aged Care Specialist Officers (ACSOs) can provide you with financial information about aged care services. They can also help you understand the services and support available to you. You can book an appointment with an ACSO to meet with them in select service centres or by using video chat.
Our Financial Information Service can also inform and educate you about your financial options when accessing aged care. No matter how you fund your retirement, we have information and resources to help you understand your aged care costs.
