What we do with it
We use the results to identify areas where we need to take action to improve outcomes for:
- citizens
- leadership
- employee engagement
- operational effectiveness.
Our results for 2024 show positive results in many areas. This includes:
- 94% of staff understood how their role contributes to achieving an outcome for the Australian public
- 89% of staff said they were happy to go the extra mile at work when required
- 85% of staff feel committed to the agency’s goals.
Our workforce is key to realising our 5-year master plan vision. The census identified several priority areas for us to focus on which are included in the agency census action plan. The action plan targets improvements in:
- staff engagement
- health and wellbeing
- leadership
- attracting, developing and retaining talent.
We’ll continue to focus on other important areas highlighted in the census feedback.
