Using the different elements of the National Authentication Service for Health (NASH) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) can help your organisation and your patients.
The NASH directory lists health care providers and supporting organisations with an active NASH PKI certificate.
If you have a NASH PKI certificate, you can access the NASH directory on the Certificates Australia website.
You manage your NASH PKI certificate by updating details in the Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service.
Healthcare Provider Organisations can use Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) to manage most contact details. To access HPOS you need a Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account.
NASH PKI certificates expire 2 years from the date of issue.
You can check the expiry date on the Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service certificate tab in Health Professional Online Services (HPOS).
Before your certificate expires you need to request a new one so you can keep using My Health Record. The Organisational Maintenance Officer (OMO) will receive a renewal notice via HPOS mail, 30 days prior to expiry. Your software vendor may also advise you when you need to renew your NASH PKI certificate.
We manage the renewal process for NASH PKI certificates for contracted service providers and general supporting organisations.
If you don’t need or use your certificate, or if it’s lost or compromised, let us know. You can request another one if you need it.
You can request to revoke NASH PKI organisation certificates. You need to log in to your Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account, and then:
- Log in to PRODA.
- Select Go to service on the HPOS tile.
- If prompted, select No Organisation – Proceed as an individual only.
- Select My programs, then Healthcare Identifiers and My Health Record.
- Select Healthcare Identifiers - Manage existing records, then your required organisation record.
- Select My organisation details, then Certificates tab.
- Select the relevant Action and then complete the required fields.
When selecting the required organisation record you may need to navigate to the correct record. Read more about Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service for health professionals.
We’ll cancel your certificate in 72 business hours and send an email notification. You can then request a new certificate in Health Professional Online Services (HPOS).
If you don’t get your certificate or can’t download it, email us at the eBusiness Service Centre. We can also help if you have a certificate and need assistance.
If you don’t think your certificate has installed correctly, please contact your software vendor.
