How to manage your allowance

You have obligations when you get ABSTUDY Relocation Allowance.

You need to let us know if any of the following happens:

  • your study load changes
  • you don’t start your course
  • you stop your course.

If you don’t let us know, we may raise a debt that you’ll have to repay. To find out more, call the ABSTUDY line.

Use this line if you get or are claiming ABSTUDY – help for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and apprentices.

If your payment has stopped, it may be because we need your parents’ or guardians’ income information. Read more about how they can update their income details online.
