What we do with it

We use the results to identify areas where we need to take action to improve outcomes for:

  • citizens
  • leadership
  • employee engagement
  • operational effectiveness.

Our results for 2024 show positive results in many areas. This includes:

  • 94% of staff understood how their role contributes to achieving an outcome for the Australian public
  • 89% of staff said they were happy to go the extra mile at work when required
  • 85% of staff feel committed to the agency’s goals.

Our workforce is key to realising our vision. The census identified several priority areas for us to focus on which are included in the agency census action plan. The action plan targets improvements in:

  • staff engagement
  • health and wellbeing
  • leadership
  • attracting, developing and retaining talent.

We’ll continue to focus on other important areas highlighted in the census feedback.
