From 1 March 2025, there are changes to some MBS items.
This includes:
- removing the 85% out of hospital rebate for over 800 MBS items
- replacing telehealth attendances with video attendance, so telehealth is now the overarching term for video and phone services.
There’s also new and amended MBS items for the following:
- nurse practitioners and midwives
- optometry services
- general medical services
- pathology services.
